Oh, What a Night!

Several Inaugural Balls took place across the DC Metro area honoring the re-election of our 44th president, Barack Hussein Obama.

We have a few pics from the balls we attended.  Check them out.

The event also featured performances by Marsha Ambrosius (one-half of the girl group, Floetry), Yo Yo, and a duo beat box mini rap concert with funny man Wayne Brady joining Doug E. The most famous ball of them all was the presidential Commander In Chief Inaugural Ball that featured the First Lady and President Obama's first dance to Al Green's Let's Stay Together, sung by the lovely and talented Jennifer Hudson.

The First Lady wore a Jason Wu ruby colored chiffon and velvet gown with a handmade diamond embellished ring by jewelry designer Kimberly McDonald. Mrs. Obama's shoes are by Jimmy Choo.

Just like her first inaugural gown, the items will be donated to the Smithsonian's National Museum of American History.  (See our coverage of the 2009 gown here).

Slavery, in all fifty states (including the ‘stateless’ District of Columbia) built an economic powerhouse infrastructure that caused the United State...
